If you are kind and share what you have, when you get more money you will share more.
If you are graspy and greedy, when you have more money, your graspy greedy energy is amped up.
Money exposes who you are.
If you are an asshole, you will be a bigger asshole.
If you are an angel, well, come sit by me. I want you to rub off on me.
Did you go out shopping on Black Friday?
That stress can amplify how you react to scarcity and competition.
How did you act?
Were you having fun or were you knocking little old ladies down to get your hands on the last gaming console in the store?
Don’t worry that more money will change you.
It will just amplify you.
The true change will come from you digging deep in your toolbar of inner resources to create more value in the world…
which in turn creates more money.
You don’t just change. You evolve.
I read a beautiful, lyrical passage by Robin Wall Kimmerer, from Braiding Sweetgrass: indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and The Teachings of Plants.
“What would it be like, I wondered, to live with heightened sensitivity to the lives given for ours? To consider the trees in the Kleenex, the algae in the toothpaste, the oaks in the floor, the grapes in the wine; to follow back the thread of life in everything and pay it respect?
Once you start, it’s hard to stop, and you begin to feel awash in gifts.”
Wow. Happy Thanksgiving.
And now for my interpretive dance. Oh wait… that’s for dinner guests only. 🙂 I will post it on YouTube next year.
I am thankful for all of you who read my blog and listen to my podcast and sign up to receive my missives each week in your inbox.
There are times when you need to slow down and rest.
Times when a pause is healing to your soul.
But when you are trying to attain a goal or reach out toward something you desire, err on the side of action.
Even when it’s not pretty.
Try something and fail.
Then try something else.
We tend to worry about failing because it doesn’t feel good.
But try action anyway.
Other people will notice the action and want to support your goal.
Create the vision.
Hold the vision.
And take the next step forward.
Erring on the side of doing nothing feels like doing something. But you get burned out without any traction.
Boo that.
