1. Poke a fork through your eye. You won’t even think about your stress as you are wheeled into the ambulance.

2. Write your old boy/girlfriend. The one who cheated on you with your best friend. Plus, rehash the night you walked in on them. The stress from your current relationship will pale in comparison. Problem solved.

3. Three words: Full Frontal Lobotomy.

4. Cut everyone out of your life. Live as a hermit. Hey – you don’t even have to shower if you are a hermit, so even one less thing, you know?

5. Addiction of any kind. Drugs, alcohol, or the more socially acceptable food, shopping, social media… the list of possible ways to numb is only limited by your creativity and the amount of cheesecake on hand.

Or…

One less painful way to get rid of your stress.

Find the thought that is causing you the pain.
Find the opposite of that thought and really believe it for just a minute.
The more often you do that, the less painful it will be until you can’t even remember why it once bothered you.
To speed up the process, find three pieces of evidence in your life… three examples… of when that opposite thought is true.
What do you think?
It’s worth a shot before you eat the entire cheesecake.

If you have followed my blog for any amount of time, you know that instead of deciding what goals you want to achieve for the year, I suggest you explore the feelings you want those achievements to bring you.

The feelings are what you really want anyway.

Fill your life with those feelings, and the goals will come to you like a magnet.

That said, I have recently had some really interesting discussions about intentions. Intentions are what you want, but they also seem to include  more depth and meaning.  The big ‘ol why you want it.

Goals are graspy.
Want, want, want.

Intentions are beautiful.

What I want for the New Year is for my daughter’s health to head in a better direction. But my intention is to raise a beautiful daughter, and help her handle her adversities with grace and as lessons learned.

What I want for my business is to finish and launch my new signature program. But my intention for my business is to bring a more meaningful, fuller, richer life for many people through deep, heartfelt conversations and programs.

So, try it for yourself.

What I want this year is (goal)_________________________________________.

But my intention for this year is _______________________________________.

One more for me…

My goal is to meditate more this year.
My intention is to create more peace in my life, and move through the world with less head banging.

Oh… and laying on a beach with a friend and a beer wouldn’t be so bad either 🙂

Have a peaceful new year!

Only three shopping days until Christmas, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite things from this year.  Not all are for Christmas, some were just things I am just crazy for.
Teraysa Sheldrick Grasty – I am so glad I found her.  Teraysa is an old friend, but more importantly for people in the Charlotte area, she is an awesome massage therapist.  We reconnected when we ran into each other at Walmart, and she has been able to finally loosen up Bayla’s headaches.  Yay!  Not a “feel good” massage, but a “fix what’s wrong with you” so you feel good massage.  Teraysa is a blessing.  And a gift certificate can be arranged.
Martha Beck Master Coaching Program – Life changing.  Transformational.  If you are a Martha Beck Certified Life Coach, just say yes.

Jes Maharry Jewelry – Love, love, love everything about Jes Maharry.  She makes jewelry with meaning and artistry.  She is about statement pieces.  Yum!  http://www.jesmaharry.com
Ulla Svane – Another gift to yourself or someone you really like is chiropracter and healer, Ulla Svane.  What a gentle, loving soul.  And my daughter is stronger and sitting up straighter due to Ulla’s treatment.  You have to experience her to fully appreciate her, because words won’t explain it.  https://www.facebook.com/ulla.svane?fref=ts
Paul Rudd Dances – Well, more specifically, he is in a lip sync battle with Jimmy Fallon.  And it makes me smile and want to dance every time I watch it.  Enjoy!  http://youtu.be/4LvMeYEwWGQ
Earl’s Grocery Green Juice – On my adventures this year in Pismo Beach, CA, my friend Donna Kramer introduced me to and got me hooked on drinking vegetables.  Who knew?  At first they did taste like grass.  By the end of the first glass, it was ok.  By day three, I was hooked.  And Earl’s Grocery on Elizabeth has something very similar just a mile from me.

Alexandra Franzen – Crack for entrepreneurs.  Alexandra is a writer for small business.  Better yet, she tells you how to write your own… for free.  Her web site has all kinds of writing prompts that help you send your clients sales letters that read like love letters.  And isn’t that what we would all rather be getting in our inbox?  http://www.alexandrafranzen.com
Backup Battery – You never have to run out of juice for your cell phone.  I gave my son one for his birthday after he ran out of cell phone battery and never called to tell me his football game was over.  Luckily, I just figured I should go check (after 3 hours) and see if his bus was back.  Ha!  You can find them at Target.  They already come fully charged, so if you run out while you are on the road, buy it and charge immediately.  http://www.target.com
Dark Chocolate covered Almonds – You find these at Trader Joe’s.  Not bad on the healthy score… it’s almonds and dark chocolate.  And somehow, even though I’m not a big almond lover, these are a little slice of heaven.  So, a fabulous gift if you live near a Trader Joe’s and since most of the people on my gift list don’t live near one, I am golden!  Golden, I tell you!  http://www.traderjoes.com/
There you have it… some of my suggestions.  And if you have any suggestions for me, I still have my husband, my son, and a few other people to buy for.
Happy Holidays, and many blessing and to you and your family…
